Cheferential Treatment’s Pledge – Halton Food for Thought

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of my clients, friends & family for their generous support throughout the past year and, at this time I’d like to make a pledge to give back to the community.

Those of us living within Halton region (and beyond) are extremely fortunate to have access to an abundance of fresh food and because of this, it’s hard to believe that there are those living amongst us – especially children who experience hunger on a daily basis.

11% of 5 year olds go to school hungry – by age 12 this statistic increases to 35%.

As a personal chef I am fortunate enough to provide nourishment to clients on a daily basis. Yet sadly enough as these statistics show, there are many who fall outside my reach.

As a result, I’ve decided to pledge 10% of my net profits/sales per year to Halton Food for Thought, a charitable organization whose mission is to provide inclusive access to nutritious foods throughout the school day to children via a number of programs.

Halton Food for Thought began its operation back in 2000 with only 21 schools participating. To date, Halton Food for Thought now runs 138 nutrition programs at 97 sites involving 1,099 volunteers – impacting more than 21,000 students.

It’s vision is to facilitate a student nutrition program in every school thereby improving the learning capacity, health and well being of all children and youth in Halton Region.

So thanks again, I look forward to your continued support to help me reach my goal of feeding the children of Halton.
